We welcome you into our congregation which values Ma’asim Tovim, the doing of good deeds. This is done in group settings, on your own, or through any of the many volunteer activities with which you may already be affiliated. If you are passionate about a particular cause contact our chairperson, who will add it to our listing of partner agencies.

CARE TEAM

We serve congregants who need extra support, who may need help with a ride after they leave the hospital to get to doctor’s appointments, the pharmacy, grocery store, services or another CRJ event. We also help congregants who may need meals delivered to their home after a hospital stay or giving birth.

Do you or someone you know need CARE Team’s help?

If you have had an extended stay in a hospital, rehab facility, surgery, or just given birth, contact CARE Team Director, Beverly Smith, thetink@hotmail.com.

We will match volunteers to help fellow congregants with the following:

  • Driving to the doctor or the grocery store.
  • Driving to CRJ services or another synagogue event.
  • Preparing and/or delivering meals.

Would you like to volunteer to be on the CARE Team?
If interested, Contact Beverly Smith at thetink@hotmail.com.

HOSPITAL VISITATION

Hospitals can be lonely places so CRJ volunteers provide a friendly face…The purpose of this committee is to visit congregants in local area hospitals and nursing homes or assisted living facilities, providing a connection to CRJ and a compassionate heart.

If interested, Contact Beverly Smith at thetink@hotmail.com.

SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCACY

The Justice Advocacy Group (JAG) is CRJ's response to the Reform Movement's call to action to work as a community to build a world of wholeness, justice, and compassion, one that is more equitable and safer for all. This year, the JAG will focus its efforts on Gun Violence Prevention and Racial Justice (specifically support for the implementation of Amendment 4 voting restoration) as CRJ joins in the second phase of the Union of Reform Judaism's Religious Action Center's (RAC) Brit Olam initiative, approved by the Board of Directors. Please join us. Contact Frank Faine, prayer_bear@msn.com for more information and next meeting date.
