Gluten Free Jewish Momma
Tuesday, June 2, 2020 • 10 Sivan 5780
7:00 PM - 8:00 PMLisa Goldman did not set out to educate, inspire and advocate for the gluten free community in 2013. But, to anyone who knows her, it’s no surprise she does after her daughter, now 21, was misdiagnosed with IBS, lactose intolerance, and 10 years of suffering. Jewish traditional meals, and most other religious holiday feasts, tend to be full of gluten, so when her daughter and husband were diagnosed with Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance, she became the Gluten Free Jewish Momma to spread awareness and advocate for her family and those in need. Through her publications, social media platforms, and private and virtual sessions, she guides her global followers, the food service industry, and the gluten free community on lifestyle considerations, healthcare, kitchen organization, travel and food safety.
Everyone in the family can join in to learn and discuss why some people eat gluten free, how to get diagnosed, where gluten is hiding, ways to transform recipes, and manage dining out with food limitations. With her certification in Food Allergy Research and Education, the Gluten Free Jewish Momma’s mission is to support people with dietary restrictions, make delicious, successful meals, and keep adults and children safe and included. This informative program will conclude with a Q&A and a visit from her special guest puppet, Gluten Free Goldie, if young viewers are present.
