CANVAS AND TAPE PAINTING

Come play and layer colors and lines as we make a super cool, fun painting using acrylic paint and tape. Your painting may be as simple or complex as you like. This is an open-ended art project that promises surprises along the way. As we paint, tips will be given about the use of borders, patterns, white space, and how the painting can be nicely finished and dry. This is an interactive class. Ask questions, share ideas, relax! A sample will be shown before we begin.

Tips before we start-
Pick colors that please you. If you think the canvas is too small go BIG! Think about which way you may want your canvas to be laid out- horizontally or vertically, consider where this painting might be hung- it may affect your color choices.

SUPPLY LIST- per person

14 x 11 inch canvas or canvas boards. Little kids may do better with smaller canvas depending on their attention span. A stretched canvas is easier to hang.

Paint-Suggested colors:

2 blues, red, yellow, white. Plus any colors. you can’t resist.

Bowls or containers to hold each paint color. Paints will be mixed with water. Cottage cheese and deli containers work well. Having tops is a nice option.

Something to stir the water and paint together.

Water container for clean water to rinse brushes out.

Brushes for each color. One 1.5 -2 inch brush will be helpful, a chip brush or other cheap brushes are fine.

Masking Tape thin or medium width.

Covered work surface
