CRJ Youth Groups:
CRJ believes in supporting the youth of our synagogue. If you are in grades 6-12, you are eligible to become a member of one of our fun and exciting youth groups! OAFTY (grades 6-8) and GORFTY (grades 9-12) are our junior and senior youth groups belonging to the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NIFTY).

GORFTY members plan fun, Jewish and tikun olam-focused events. The teens create a thriving community where all feel welcome, while making themselves a visible and committed part of Temple life. GORFTY members grow into leaders who are confident in their abilities, work well with each other, and love to welcome new teens into their midst. A member of GORFTY may do something as simple as attending an event, or as involved as planning one. No matter what you do, you are part of an exciting group of teens, who embrace each other and their Judaism. Meet new friends and strengthen connections to old friends by joining in exciting activities and social events, social action projects, conventions, fundraisers, and other ways to further your connections to Judaism.

OAFTY is a great way to meet and become friends with Jewish Middle School students from all over the area. Join us for fun events like Rock Climbing, Blizzard Beach, sleepovers or a night at the movies.

GORFTY (Greater Orlando Federation of Temple Youth)

"GORFTY is CRJ’s Senior Youth Group. They compose a board for the year and organize and implement activities throughout the school year. GORFTY is big on social action and connecting Jewish teens together in the community. GORFTY events take place throughout the whole school year, implementing Jewish values, education and Fun!

GORFTY is affiliated with the National Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY). As NFTY-Southern Tropical members, GORFTYites are able to attend NFTY conventions and activities around the area.

OAFTY (Orlando Area Federation of Temple Youth)

Come out each and every month for OAFTY, Orlando Area Federation of Temple Youth. OAFTY is CRJ Orlando's Reform Youth Group. and is open to all 6th, 7th, 8th grade students at CRJ. Here is your chance to get involved at CRJ, explore your Jewish roots, meet new friends, and get a taste of NFT, the North American Federation of Temple Youth. Events include various in-temple events, Disney trips, Hatikvah Kallah, and much much more.

Keep in mind, the actually events may change based on what your kids want to do! This youth group is meant to be exactly that, a Youth Group. We welcome new members and old members alike.

Yearly dues are $48, which offsets the cost of the events. Forms are available in the lobby by the Front Office.The 2006-2007 OAFTY advisor is Zoie Springer. If you would like additional membership information or information on upcoming events, please contact Zoie.
