• Congregational Youth Committee (CYC)
The CYC is a committee that actively supports the goals of our youth groups; GORFTY and OAFTY. We are a group of committed adults and youth leaders who share ways in which we can increase the participation amongst our CRJ teens and preteens to stay involved with the activities of our synagogue. It is our desire to foster heightened connections to Judaism, support profound educational experiences, and help to instill meaningful relationships among teens.

As advocates for our youth, we maintain a connection between the CRJ Board and our youth through assisting in creating youth group policy, hiring and supervising of advisors, as well as being a structured group of sponsors for the continuation of strong youth groups that foster long-term commitment to the ideals and values of Reform Judaism.

”Your elders shall dream dreams, and your youth shall see visions.” – Joel 3:

• Education and Religious School

We are dedicated to serving our Religious School youth through actively supporting the Religious School Director in setting school policy, fundraising efforts, bringing school families together, and other school related issues.

• Financial Oversight - Jay Fisher
The Congregation of Reform Judaism will meet the financial needs of the congregation through sound fiscal policy and procedures, solid planning, and pro active funding.  This is done to generate revenue and control expenses to support the short term and long term needs for CRJ.

The committee also: develops annual budget for Board approval; monitors budget versus actual figures monthly; maintains the records of the Temple as regards Board policy and procedures; assists the Executive Committee and the Board in protecting the assets of the Temple as regards contracts, insurance, legal, accounting and whatever contracts or activities in which the Temple may engage.

• Hospital Committee - Chairperson: Robin Siegel
Hospitals are so lonely.... for most people it is a fearful time … a place where strangers invade your privacy...a place that seems so far from home …You have the opportunity to be a friendly face that brightens the day of our hospitalized congregants. Volunteer to visit!

• House and Grounds - Chairperson: David Rasmussen
The responsibilities include: providing sufficient, quality physical resources and facilities to meet the needs of a changing and growing congregation.  The physical facility will provide a warm, comfortable environment that can support the activities and programs of CRJ.  There will be adequate equipment and tools to implement our programming and manage the congregation.  This is accomplished by pro-active planning and maintaining our resources.

• Leadership Development

We are looking for congregants who are interested in working with CRJ and helping to ensure its vibrant future. If you are interested in becoming intimately involved with the workings of CRJ and would like to take your place as a leader in our community, please contact Alex Sacharoff.

Check out some of the books we have in our Cantor Harold Dworkin Learning Resource Center. The LRC is open during Religious School hours and can be opened during the week by any member of the temple staff. Books may be checked out for three weeks and may be renewed as necessary. If you like books, love libraries, or just enjoy working with other committed CRJ members; we could use you on the LRC Committee. The LRC (Learning Resource Center) Committee helps maintain and support our LRC/Library. We will soon be setting up regular hours and need people to keep the library open. The committee is doing most of their work right now from 10:00-12:00 on Wednesday mornings before Torah Study.

• Legal and By-laws - Chairperson: Howard Friedman
This Committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees for changes to the Constitution and By-laws, and advises the Executive Committee and/or the Board of Trustees on legal matters as appropriate.

Their goal is to insure that all members of CRJ attain fulfillment from their membership in order to become and remain active in the synagogue community.  This will be accomplished by integrating new and current members.  We will also seek out the unaffiliated to join our CRJ family.
