ADULT EDUCATION

Classes include: Study of The Holocaust,  Reform Response discussion, a beginning Hebrew class, lunch and learn programs, special classes for parents on Sunday mornings during School of Chai, knitting, exercise and other topics such as: an evening program exploring "Why and How I Choice Judaism."  Here are the first two classes offered this year.

THE GREAT MIDRASHIM
Jews traditionally interpret text through Midrash.  This class will provide you with an opportunity to learn the stories and legends known as Midrashim developed by the rabbis and provided through the words of our great storyteller, Rabbi Steven Engel.

The class will meet from 7:30 – 9 pm on Mondays, October 25, November 1 and November 8, 2010.  Texts will be provided by Rabbi Engel. Registration is required to Debbie Gold, dgold@crjorlando.org or call the Temple office, 407-645-0444.

FOR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS
A special opportunity – ‘LET’S TALK ABOUT GOD” with Zena W. Sulkes, Ph.D. This class is designed to help parents and/or grandparents explore Judaism’s God concepts to help one understand one’s own beliefs.  We will then explore strategies of how to talk to children from preschool through teens.

Learn about Mishkan Tefilah; our Reform movement’s new prayer book. CRJ will begin using Mishkan Tefilah in January. This class will be taught by our own Dr. Zena Sulkes and will help you become familiar with our prayer book and learn about its similarities to Gates of Prayer. Class will meet: Nov 2, 9, 30 and Dec 7 and 14 at 1:00 pm in Goldman Social Hall. Books will be provided for each class. RSVP to Debbie Gold, dgold@crjorlando.org.
